WOW = WIPs On Wednesdays!
Today is a WIP update of sorts. I'm very happy to report that that chillis I planted a few months ago for my DH have grown nicely and are supplying the kitchen with chillis. The only suprise is that chillis above are sweet and have no heat at all, they just add a dash of colour to things. The rest of the chilli's are hot hot hot. Too hot for me!
This last chilli has mysteruiously refused to give us anything but leaves. Hopefully it will change it's mind next year!
Hmmm. Unless I'm hallucinating, it looks like it has flowers. Maybe you have to tap the stems with the leaves (like tomatoes) to get seed set. Or maybe it needs a pollinator. Never heard of a sterile chili plant.
ReplyDeleteHi Esther,
ReplyDeleteThat is a habanero chilli plant. We have 3 of them. One of the hottest chillies around. If your cayennes are too hot for you, you should be glad the habanero hasn't produced its aromatic but deadly fruit!
They look yummy, soon we will be able to plant here in Canada since our Spring Summer has arrived very very early.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful plant but chili's are way too hot for me!
