WOW = WIPs On Wednesdays
Everyone needs to practice their domestic machine quilting! As it's been a while, I decided to warm up my trusty 1950's Elna and quilt some freehand. I am thinking about how I might like to quilt my Forget Me Not BOM when the time comes, and it's never too soon to start thinking about how to enhance the flower blocks.
trying out some decorative stitches ...
Oh Esther I wish I could do this kind of free motion. But I can't draw so my feathers are not good LOL.

Why am I not surprised that your machine quilting is exquisite also!
ReplyDeleteThat flower looks spectacular with what you have put around it. Love the thread painting on the flower, too.
From a just beginning to learn FMQ newbie.
I have been doing the same! Great minds...your FMQ is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove how you work a heart into your feathers and the stitching detail in the flower. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilting, I love it! And thanks for organizing WOW every week, it's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilting Esther!
ReplyDeleteYour swirls, hearts, and feathers are wonderful!!! Quilting is something I so need to work on expanding and exploring with free form machine quilting. It adds soooo much to the total design of the quilt. Another to-do added to the bucket list :o)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Always, Queenie
Practicing quilting before actually doing it? What a fabulous idea! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHa!!!!! I can not sew a straight line so you would think I could do swirls and feathers but NO my hands do not do what my mind thinks???????????? No blog from me again this week, was busy putting a very excited wee 3 year old grandson and dad on a flight back home to Japan to see mum after 9 days apart for the first time!!!!! Cheers Glenda
ReplyDeleteLovely...doesn't look like you need to practice at all...just get warmed up!
ReplyDeleteHi, Esther. I've enjoyed seeing your blog. Great machine quilting and the fact that someone is keeping the art of stenciling alive and healthy is reassuring. Your work is beautiful. Also found your post about the tote bag copyright scandal to be well written and thoughtful. I would tend to agree with you. Give credit where credit is due. However, this tempest in a teapot is a bit much. Looking forward to following your blog and seeing future projects.
