WOW: The Vases Have Spoken

WOW = WIPs On Wednesday

I think I've found the perfect fabric for my vases - and just when I wasn't looking. This quilt is really having its own way with me: all my original ideas are gone, I just let the quilt decide. And this beautiful fabric goes beautifully with my patchwork style compass and crown. I love it when these finds just happen, what do you think?

What's Your WOW ?

  2. That's absolutely perfect for your vases. Your LE is going to be gorgeous!
    And I know what you mean about LE, it really does have a mind of its own. But don't we just love when that happens.

  3. HI Esther,
    I love how you made your own template to audition the fabric. What a clever idea.
    Any comments on how you go about making a quilt by using stencils?

  5. Love the way you have chosen to audition your fabrics and you are right, after all of the hard work you have put into desigining, redesigning and capturing the hearts of all the quilt world it does not surprise me that this quilt should speak to you.

  6. This really is the perfect choice for the vases. I agree that the quilt seems to have a mind of its own. I'm just finishing up part two and already fabrics that I thought I wanted to use have been rejected in favor of ones I never thought of using. It is a joy to work on this, even though I seem to be moving at a very slow pace.

  7. Oh Esther how perfect. It will be a very very beautiful Vase, I love how the rose sits in the right spot. It is a beautiful piece of fabric interesting to see it is made in Japan not the USA. I agree with you this quilt is magical and has been dictating to me right from the compass LOL. So glad finally you are enjoying the journey of this beautiful quilt too that you created. Cheers Glenda

  8. Esther -- WOW is right! That fabric is just perfect for the vase. I love how you cut your stencil -- I've always used template plastic but I think the cutout is a better idea because it really blocks everything else out and allows you to focus on the design only. Thanks for sharing -- I love it!

  11. Thank you for taking the time to comment everyone, I love knowing that there are still some of you out there as interested in the fabric details as I am! I have obsessed over the fabric choices so much on this quilt, I've even bored myself at times! I must add that with Love Entwined, it's a fussy quilt, you can only do so much yourself in regards to 'planning' your fabrics and after that you have to let the quilt 'speak' for itself. I'm really happy with the results when I just stop 'searching' and let the quilt decide.
