WOW = WIPs On Wednesdays
I'm drawing up a design plan for quilting my Oma's Blues quilt. I don't actually mark my quilts when I quilt them, I prefer freestyle quilting my own work. But with Oma, things feel more complicated. I need a plan mapped out on the styles I want to use.I wasn't sure I wanted to 'finish' Oma with quilting. I had an idea to make my quilts and leave them at the 'top' stage so I could easily cart them around to workshops and show and tells. But every time I need to set them aside, I feel I 'must' carry on and quilt them, so it looks like my quilting load will just keep increasing at this point.
What's Your WOW?
Esther how beautiful that looks and so many hours of sketching before you even start the quilting. Thanks for sharing this with us as I never realised how much thought goes in to quilting by machine. Cheers Glenda
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is going to be exquisite, Esther. Your quilting will take a stunning top to an even higher level. Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Those quilting patterns look absolutely amazing! I can see why you'd want to give yourself a 'map'!
ReplyDeleteIt might be more work to take them from 'flimsy' to 'quilt' but I tell that it's going to be worth it, even if the carting them around is a bit heavier and more troublesome.
I know what you mean, you can pack a lot more tops into a suitcase than whole quilts. This one seems special though. If you used a silk batting/wadding it would still be lightweight. LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteI am glad you quilt the top and impressed by the design!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's going to be a lot of quilting based on your current plan!
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt map and looking forward to following the quilting progress.
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks beautiful. Can't wait to see the real quilting!

ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! What a finish it will be.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you will do a lot of quilting on Oma's Blues. Will you machine or hand quilt?
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the link party, Esther. I appreciate it.

ReplyDeleteCan't proceed atoll so that sort back-channel mechanism but it's a little messy right almost everyone in this room probably wrote some PHP code if you took 50 that trigger one or more 70-412 of these errors and so it be nice if we could catch them more effectively and so with these things called exceptions allow you to do is exactly that rather than just to do.
