WOW = WIPs On Wednesdays
On Sunday it was Mother's Day, and also a month to the day since my mother passed. Although I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I had been craving cake all week so we splurged on a beautiful and decadent chocolate mousse which we ate off my wedding plates. I found them when I sorted through my mother's things, and they made the journey home in one piece which was a nice surprise.
I don't know why food tastes so much better when it's beautiful to look at, but I find it is.
Today I was hoping to catch up on some emails, but my email server, GoDaddy is down. I've googled it and am relieved to know it's not just me, it's worldwide ( I couldn't handle any new tech issues on top of everything else). So I might try and get some laundry done. It's about time.
What's Your WOW?
Esther-
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are feeling better. That lovely chocolate desert served on wedding plates would certainly perk me up. It has been a hard month for you and you have all our best wishes.

love the look of your comfort food and glad your dishes made it home ok.
ReplyDeleteEsther so glad you were well enough to do WOW today, all ready there are 5 links and all 5 of them so different but so exciting to visit and what motivation there is in each link. Your WOW or WIPs are so so good, all ways some thing interesting to learn from the other quilters from around the world. I adore your wedding plate lovely lovely pattern it reminds me of the painting Howard use to paint on the Hamsesley porcelain I have some of my grandmothers cups and saucers. Cheers Glenda
ReplyDeleteWishing you a full recovery from the flu. It takes a long time to recover, I know. Enjoy the lovely mousse.
ReplyDeleteDear Esther
ReplyDeleteGlad you are taking time to rest. Do not feel guilty if you take double the time to get over the flu, it is the best thing you can do. Then when you are ready, you will be going full steam ahead. Love the cake and the wedding plate. My Mom always baked, the thing I miss the most: Picking up the phone and chatting to her! Because of her, all of us love to bake and three of the grandchildren became professional Chef's. Think of you everyday and carry you in my prayers. A Healing Heart will be winging its way to you today!
That dessert was almost too lovely to eat! (But not quite--LOL!) It takes a while to recover from the flu...take good care of yourself! :)
ReplyDeleteChocolate cures all, but that one is sensational!
ReplyDeleteLife for me has also been surreal, but not because of the flu.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby also had a hard time on Mother's Day after losing his mother at the end of February. It didn't help that we had dinner with family at his sister's house. His mother wouldn't have been there regardless as she's not been with us for a few years, but knowing that she is gone was hurtful to him.
I want some of that dessert right now!
Chocolate is good for anything and such a beautiful cake .... It is a good thing you live far away, because I would come to you to ask a piece with a coffee!!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!!
I vote for taking it easy! Make sure you're really over the flu before going full tilt again. So glad your dishes made it safely. That dessert is amazing!
