My 'Forget Me Not' Progress Blocks

'Forget Me Not' was released back in 2012 as a Mystery Quilt and is one of my earlier patterns. Because I'm always two steps ahead of myself, I was already onto the next quilt before I finished this one and it somehow became a WIP. It's always on my Must Finish List because it's so beautiful, but somehow.. well.. you know how it happens.. I simply haven't finished mine yet. I really do crave to see some Forget Me Nots out there and I do feel a bit guilty that I have let this design down by not finishing it. After seeing Bunny's two beauties yesterday, I'm going to share my own progress with you.
Here are some of my Forget Me Not blocks: as I mentioned in yesterdays post, each month there were 2 x floral blocks to pick from with the idea that no single quilt would be the same as everyone would have a different assortment of blocks picked out:
Sun and Cornflower Block
Tulip Block
Magnolia Block
Poppy Block
Jacob's Ladder Block
Hibiscus Block
Forget Me Not Block

These are just a small sample of the flower blocks : there are 24 in total and I will show them all off once I have completed my quilt top.

'Forget Me Not' by Bunny

'Forget Me Not' is one of my early quilts. It isn't seen much because I never finished mine and there are hardly any photos of it about. My blocks are all done, but I simply haven't sewn up the top. The wonderful thing about Forget Me Not is that each month I released 2 x floral blocks with the idea that each quilter would pick one. What ended up happening is that many quilters couldn't decide between the blocks and made both - which allowed for 2 quilt tops.

Bunny made both in these two colourways and I'm so grateful to her for these pictures because I know so many new members have never seen this quilt!

I love both colourways, they each shine in their own beauty. And I love all the flower blocks themselves, so it's impossible to pick a favourite. I'll just say I love them both equally.

Thanks for sending these pics through Bunny - honestly I can't wait to see more Forget Me Nots in the future, it's such a beautiful quilt.

'Secret Garden' by Bunny

'Secret Garden' by Bunny of Canada
We all know and love Bunny; she was a Moderator over in my Group for years and is still around as a fellow member now, offering good advice, encouragement and plenty of know how. In fact, although she's not a Moderator anymore, she'll always be an Honorary Moderator because she's a part of the fabric that is my Online Quilt Group. Bunny has made many -in fact, most of my quilts and they're all utterly beautiful. She's always an inspiration and her colour choices always leave a lasting impression.

Here is her Secret Garden quilt top before quilting. I love these before pics, they're hugely motivating. My own Secret Garden is in a similar state - in need of quilting and I can't wait to show it off once it's finally finished. What can I say? It's on the WIP pile.. But back to Bunny - how harmonious are these colours? They're so beautiful, I just love how this quilt looks.

WOW: Working on HOYH

  WOW = WIPs On Wednesdays
Oh wow, look away now. I am driving myself crazy with selecting the right fabrics for my full colour HOYH quilt. I have been shopping up a storm, going backwards and forwards and ending up in a different place every time. And the worst thing is that I love every possibility and can't decide between them. I really thought I would struggle with my 'limited' pallette quilt, but actually it's this full colour version that's causing all the drama in my studio.
There's no way you've been able to keep up with my flipping and changing. So here's my update: in the last week I've been torn between using this golden polka dot linen, the Fassett poka dot above and the Tula Pink polka dot in aqua below. All I know is, I have an issue with polka dots. The issue being, I can't get enough of them.
I have these combinations up on my design wall where I can see them with 'fresh' eyes during the day. At some point I will commit.
I just don't know when..

'Queen's Garden' by Sandra Pearson

Queen's Garden by Sandra Pearson of the UK
Sandra has created an absolute stunner - I love how these fabrics shine against the light background. And the quilting is superb. Each flower block has been enhanced and is looking fabulous.

Queen's Garden is such a fun applique quilt, I love seeing how every single make is just a bit different and comes into it's own through use of colour and fabric.

It's gorgeous Sandra!

'Love Always' by Shirley Tchou

'Love Always' by Shirley Tchou, Pepper Pike, Ohio, US

Take a look at this beauty! I look and get my fill, but find I have to keep looking. My eyes are just drinking in this wonderful colour scheme. It feels cool, lush and enchanting. The balance of greens and purples with accents of yellow is inspiring and I am in love with every inch of this quilt.

I'm so blessed to see my quilt designs presented to me in so many different colour schemes and moods; I'm ever grateful to the talented quilters who take the time to send me their work and allow me to enjoy my designs paired and transformed through their creativity- it's a partnership of pleasure. Thank you so much Shirley, you have made my day

Love Always is a special quilt, I consider it to be the sister quilt of Love Entwined and it definitely has a large dose of romance and mystery about it. I love how the simple rose vines create gateways inviting you to spend time in the centre which is anchored with three large flourishing blooms. I love every last detail and it's a joy to see others  interpreting the design over and over again - each time is a new story that I can't wait to read.

Hop To It: Easter Wall Hanging

Here's the 'Easter Blessings' Wall Hanging I started 2 years ago - boy does time fly! I think it's about time this beauty was completed, so I've set myself the task of getting it done this week. This Easter I intend to have it hanging in my kitchen. As you can see, I reached the border stage. The pattern calls for a pieced border that creates egg shapes, but I was so in love with this print fabric (I picked the one on the left hand side), that I decided to opt for a floral border.

The pattern includes 3 designs:
This is the one I'm making above, in Landscape layout
It also comes in a portrait layout option
and then there's this 'Bunny Hunter' version with a satisfied bunny after an egg hunt. Cute huh?
Like it? Make it!
